On The MOVE
Tabs FM’s flexible software solutions for Ibrox Stadium mean Glasgow Rangers staff can access all data while on the move
Originally the Tabs software was integrated for day-to-day reactive maintenance jobs at Glasgow Rangers’ Ibrox Stadium, but over the past two years they have integrated asset management, planned maintenance, room/hospitality booking and handheld technology.
Ibrox Stadium holds a capacity of roughly 50,000 and requires ongoing daily maintenance. Whether it is lighting, grounds maintenance or heating, the mobile technology allows Rangers’ staff to move freely around the site and access all data while on the move. Asset management is recorded via the handheld units and downloaded without returning to a computer.
Workers can read risk assessments, method statements, asset information and much more directly on their pocket PC.
They respond to jobs, recording their time spent, any material usage and even client satisfaction signatures if required. All this information is then transferred back to base during the next connection.
The Intranet/Internet module has been a huge success for Rangers since rolling it out in 2006. The system provides their internal staff, workers and contractors a link to their operations. They have the ability to request reactive jobs, search for job progression, view room bookings, request rooms, catering, equipment, visitors, annual leave and much more.
The information that can be accessed remains under the customer’s control and the information can be selectively restricted as deemed necessary. Certain individuals can have higher authority and be allowed to book direct from the Intranet. A simple, fast and professional interface is provided throughout and serves to raise the profile of any FM department, client, or contractor, along with directly reducing the number of telephone calls to the helpdesks.
